Candle Care Guide

For a Cleaner, Safer & Longer Lasting Burn

Thank you for choosing Glimmer Ceylon. Our candles are hand-poured with care using premium ingredients. Follow this simple candle care guide to enjoy the best fragrance throw, burn quality, and safety from your candle.

1. First Burn Matters Most

  • Always allow the candle to burn until the wax melts evenly across the entire surface (edge to edge).

  • This may take 2 – 4 hours depending on candle size.

  • A full melt pool prevents tunneling and helps your candle last longer.

2. Trim the Wick Every Time

  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch (5–6 mm) before each burn.

  • This ensures a steady flame, reduces soot, and improves fragrance performance.

  • If the flame is too high or flickering, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight.

3. Burn Time Guidelines

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Allow the wax to cool and solidify before relighting.

  • This helps preserve fragrance and prevents overheating the container.

4. Candle Placement Tips

  • Place candles on a heat – resistant, stable surface.

  • Keep away from drafts, fans, air conditioners, or open windows.

  • Drafts can cause uneven burning, dripping, or smoking.

5. Safety First - Always

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep out of reach of children and pets.

  • Do not move the candle while wax is hot or liquid.

  • Stop burning when ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom.

6. Keep the Wax Clean

  • Keep matches, wick trimmings, and debris out of the wax pool.

  • Clean wax ensures a clean burn and protects the wick.

7. Extinguishing the Candle

  • Use a candle snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax and straighten it back up.

  • Avoid blowing out the candle to reduce smoke and wax splatter.

8. Reuse & Sustainability

  • Once finished, allow the container to cool completely.

  • Clean with warm water and mild soap.

  • Reuse your Glimmer Ceylon jar as décor, storage, or a planter.
